Part share with Haughhead Stables
Our Part Share Scheme is a great way for riders to develop their confidence, build a relationship with a horse and become a real part of yard life at Haughhead.
With two rides a week alongside hands-on horse care and time helping around the yard, it’s ideal for riders looking for that next step without the commitment of owning their own horse.
How part share works
Everything you need to know about sharing a horse with us at Haughhead Stables, from weekly riding arrangements to routine care contributions.
Weekly cost and rides
Part Share is £60 per week and includes two rides each week. It’s a great way to enjoy regular riding, building a relationship with a horse and become more involved in life at Haughhead.
Routine care contributions
Part sharers contribute half of their horses shoeing costs, approximately every 6 weeks. We also ask for half of the annual dental cost, along with worming and rug cleaning.
Flexible scheduling
Part share days can be flexible. During the winter months, the two days will be arranged across Friday, Saturday and Sunday for under 18s, allowing us to make the best use of daylight.
Hacking and safety guidelines
Part Share rides join the hacks going out from the yard. Due to our insurance requirements, part sharers cannot ride out alone.if your horse is needed for a customer or unavailable, well always provide another suitable horse for you to ride.
More than just riding
Part share at Haughhead Stables is about much more than simply turning up to ride. Our part sharers get involved with the general care of the horse, day-to-day yard jobs and helping out with things like lead reins. It’s a great way to build confidence, learn more about caring for horses and become a real part of life on the yard.
Become part of the yard
At weekends, part sharers will usually arrive around 10am and can stay until around 4pm, although there is no requirement to stay for the full day. As riders find their feet, they often end up spending more time at the yard, getting involved, helping out and becoming part of everyday life at Haughhead. In fact, were usually trying to get everyone out the gate at the end of the day because they’d happily stay longer!
